Leila Kanaan

Leila Kanaan is a Lebanese film director, writer and fashionista. Her most notable works include her music videos direction for prominent Arab stars such as Nancy Ajram, Haifa Wehbe, Myriam Fares, Yara, Diana Haddad, ChebKhaledand Rashed ElMajed. These music videos reflected her interest in unique Production Design, Storytelling and Beauty. In 2010, she won the Best Music Video of the Year Murex d'Or award for two of her works tie, Nancy Ajram’s "LamsetEed" and Haifa Wehbe’s "Baba Fein". In 2011, she won the Best Music Video of the Year Murex d'Or award again for Nancy Ajram’s "Sheikh El Shabab". Leila has also a great experience in TV commercials, TV Identsand online content for clients such as L’Oreal, Johnson & Johnson, Lux, DaburAmla, Saudi Telecom, Mobily, Zain, Etisalat, Unilever, Coca Cola, Juhayna, Lipton, Puck, Maggi, Knorr, Flynas Saudi Airlines, Sony, Unicef, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,Roads &Transport Authority Dubai,Al Baghdadia, Rotana Cinema, Lebanese Broadcasting Company, Al Noor Bank… In parallel to her career’s growth, Leila found time to obtain a Master of Research in Film, teach editing at IESAV (Institute of cinematic arts in Beirut) and directed two films: "My Father’s House", a cynical short film that made the rounds of short films festivals and won numerous awards,and an experimental short film about the July-August 2006 war in Lebanon, "After the Storm". While successfully pursuing her career as a director of commercials, she is now working on still confidential films and television series projects for the local, regional and international markets.
